sleepy hollow cemetery : cemetery of the headless horseman

this is the famous Sleepy Hollow Cemetery just beyond the Headless Horseman Bridge in Sleepy Hollow. it was a beautiful, hot summer day, later in the afternoon when i shot these photos. although the sun was out i was still a little uncomfortable in the cemetery alone. i was also uncomfortable because i basically broke into the cemetery after hours...enjoy:)

croton reservoir adventure!

timothy and i drove up to the Croton Reservoir not knowing what to expect, but this place was awesome! there is a large park at the base of the dam wall and an entrance to the Aqueduct trail and the Croton River trail. we had a blast walking around and taking pictures. we even stumbled upon an ancient-looking tortoise. enjoy:)

project 365: abandoned...or modified

hey all
i have decided to modify Project 365. it is incredibly difficult and time consuming to photograph and post every day. photography and creativity should be more organic so i have decided to keep posting photos, but as they come naturally. i hope you enjoy.

for Lynda

project 365: day 68: oyster shells for Lynda

day 68: the sea inside

i took these pictures on a whim, very late at night. i was not optimistic about this work but i really like what came out of it. these oyster shells remind me of my aunt Lynda. she reminds me of the ocean. even out of the ocean for so long these shells carry the weight of the sea inside...

project 365: day 67: lick!

day 67: late night lick

this was taken minutes before we went to bed. despite my best efforts i missed another day:( i've been pushing it, but i promise to get better. i guess this is our little guy's way of saying "thank you for letting me sleep in your bed." haha:)

project 365: day 66: sweet life

day 66: trading places

we rescued this little guy from a shelter two weeks ago. looks like he got a pretty sweet deal...:)

the amazing self-cleaning dog; August

my brooklyn lover, Natalie, came up with her maltipoo named August. he always has amazing nature adventures with Jaco and today he learned to swim! he was soaking wet, the rolled in wet mud and dry leaves. as we walked he rolled in grass and dirt and grass and dirt until, poof! he was white again. still don't know how he did it...

project 365: day 65: iris

day 65: iris on the hudson

i worked my tushie off this Memorial Day weekend so i had to take photos with my iphone at work. at least i didn't miss any days. these are some gorgeous irises that grow by the water. i can only be so creative with the iphone...

project 365: day 64: uninspired

day 64: uuuuugggghhhh

it was late, i was tired and completely uninspired. this is what happens when you try to be artistic every day. ugh.

project 365: day 63: Smokey the Shiba Inu

day 63: three dogs in the house!

timothy and i were walking Jaco and Umberto on the trail when we saw this guy with no leash. we asked a couple people if he was theirs and everyone said 'no.' we took him home and he hung out on the back porch while we tried to contact his owners. needless to say Jaco was stomping around like a teenager wondering what the heck was going on. Smokey was cool, he looked like a fox and was friendly. we were definitely relieved when his owner picked him up later. what a zoo:)

project 365: day 62: my husband

day 62: big huge swing

timothy and i took the boys to Halsey Pond again and came back to this spot with the huge swing. the whole forest here has a Rip Van Winkle feeling. i love the light (and the man) in this shot.

project 365: day 61: minor blackout

day 61: blackout

last night at work we lost power in most of the restaurant. hardly anyone batted an eye. the customers could not have cared less, but, of course the owners were a little concerned. we lit a bunch of extra candles and passed them around. it was a pretty cool vibe.
